E100 Razor Scooter - Summary

The E100 Razor has a smaller frame and less powerful than the E300.  It has a lower maximum rider weight of 54kg so if your child is going to be exceeding this weight limit in the next 2 or 3 years, it may be a good idea to go for the E300.

The E100 weighs a lot less, has a smaller frame and it's less powerful so it will be easier for younger, smaller kids to manage.

The speed may be a major factor in which scooter to get for your child. It's top speed is 10mph. Most kids will go this fast on their bikes.

It has a pneumatic front tyre and it's rear wheel is made of urethane.

Verdict - the E100 is a good choice for kids aged 8, 9 and 10 (although there are reviews of kids this age using the E300) If you are buying for a 11 or 12 year old it will very much depend on their confidence and ability as to which one you get. An extra 5mp may not seem a lot but 5mph extra is a 50% speed increase. Most 12 year olds would enjoy this scooter but may prefer the speedier E300.

E300 Razor Scooter - Summary

If you're buying for a teen, the E300 is the way to go. It's larger frame and deck size make it a good choice for teens and adults.  If you're looking for something which has some more speed and power, the E300 is also the best choice.

It's powerful 250-watt motor reaches maximum speeds of 15 mph. In comparison, the E100 reaches speeds of up to 10mph with an 100 watt motor.

The E300 doesn't require a kick start, (unlike the E100) and the ride uses the twist grip acceleration to reach the max speed. There is no variable speed on this scooter, It's either on / off or at speed.

It's two 10 inch extra wide pnuematic tyres offers a smoother, more comfortable ride.  The handlebar can fold the blue version of the E300 (but not on the grey version) which makes it easier for transportation and storage. A folding handlebar is a feature not included on the E100.
Verdict - A good choice for the teenager as well as for 12 (and possibly 11 year olds) who will be confident and comfortable with the 15mph maximum speed. The pnumatic tyres will give a more comfortable ride on paths with some lumps and bumps.

Other points of note

Power and speed

The 250 watt motor on the E300 gives more power than the 100 watt motor on the E100. This means it will be easier to power up hills faster and easier on the  scooter. The E300's top speed of 15mph will also go a bit futher on a single charge.

The Razor E100 will go about five to 10 miles on a charge, while the Razor E300 can travel more than 10 miles before you need to charge it again. Even though they go different speeds, they both have a run time of approximately 40 minutes one charge.

Brakes

Both scooters have hand operated brakes which means that when the brake is operated both scooters will come to a stop. However, one difference to note is the E300 has a hand operated rear brake which is very effective and provides a safe stop from it's 15mph speed.  In comparison the E100 has a hand operated front brake.

Additional features

Both scooters share a lot of the same features. They both have a kickstand, all steel frame and fork and twist grip acceleration.

One difference to note is the E100 requires a kick start in order for the motor to work whereas the E300 does not.  The handlebar on the blue E300 can also be folded down (the grey version of the E300 doesn't have a foldign handlebar. The handelbar can't fold at all on the E100.

Price

At the time of writing online prices seem to be very similar for both these scooters. That means if you get the E300 you are getting a lot more power and speed for your money.
